Kacy Hill w/ Hamond

Larimer Lounge Presents Kacy Hill with Hamond on Wednesday, June 5th.Kacy Hill:Singer-songwriter Kacy Hill has spent her entire career growing in a musical cocoon. With three studio albums, Like A Woman, Is It Selfish If We Talk About Me Again?, and Simple, Sweet, and Smiling, and high-profile collabs with artists like Travis Scott (“90210)” and Kid Cudi (“Releaser”), she spent years flexing her musical wings in every direction. But on her incoming 2024 album BUG!, Hill has hatched into her most realized and refined self. Recruiting sonic innovators such as Bartees Strange, Nourished by Time, and Jim-E Stack to nurture the potency of her vision, BUG! is a tapestry of earthy folk, dream-pop, and spacious Americana — all orbiting the themes of angst and the clarity of confidence patiently waiting on the other side of it. Being applauded by song-writing giants like Lana Del Rey and Lorde and industry definers such as Vogue, Pitchfork, Ones To Watch, PAPER Magazine, HYPEBEAST, V Magazine, Interview Magazine, DAZED, COLORS, Perfectly Imperfect, and Nylon, Hill certifies that her metamorphosis into her final form is only just beginning.Hamond:Hamond, a multi-instrumentalist, producer, singer, songwriter from Houston, Texas who makes songs that can’t be easily tied to a place or time. Instead, his music has a deeper resonance, rooted in timeless textures and thoughtful songwriting, drawing inspiration from sounds and subcultures worldwide.Having played piano, guitar, and drums since he was a child, then producing for rappers in high school after getting access to Logic, Hamond has spent years honing his sound, devouring music, and growing as an artist and a person. The result is Pirate Radio, a modern take on vintage styles and objects. It’s a vivid and cohesive project that delivers the nostalgia of stumbling on an old cassette of music from your childhood and the serotonin rush of tuning into a distant radio transmission and discovering your new favorite song. Classic singer-songwriter traditions, R&B balladry, indie rock, beat tapes, UK garage, drum & bass, The Neptunes’ production, LimeWire deep-cuts, and much more are filtered through the lens of a music-obsessive who grew up in Houston, Texas. The result is ultimately very human, with Hamond taking on universal themes that resonate whether you grew up listening to commercial radio or digging in the crates. “I think I’ve always been inspired by a wide combination of influences and always wanted to combine different genres because of all the phases I went through musically as a kid. my sister had limewire on our shared family computer so my music taste as a little kid was just her music taste. she always had good taste in electronic and alternative music. once I got the ability to produce on logic in high school I started producing for rappers and that opened a whole new world. I’ve also always gravitated to 7th chords used by my favorite artists/producers like The Neptunes, Broadcast, and Stereolab. There are common things throughout a lot of influences I try to pull from to try to make something new. that’s the main goal”-16+, under 16 admitted with ticketed guardian

Cece Coakley – The Happy Adjacent Tour w/ Ethansroom

Larimer Lounge Presents Cece Coakley – The Happy Adjacent Tour with Ethansroom on Monday, September 18th.Cece Coakley is hitting her stride. In the wake of her debut 2022 EP “Tender,” the 22-year old singer-songwriter is exploring a world beyond her native Knoxville, literally and metaphorically. Fresh off touring with rising acts like Medium Build, Stephen Sanchez, Field Guide and Ella Jane, Coakley has no shortage of new experiences to draw from. “The first EP came out of living at my parents’ house,” she explains. “Now I’m writing new songs on the road and trying them out live the same night –– I’ve grown up so much making this new music.” Splitting her time between Nashville and LA, Coakley partnered with new collaborators like Andy Seltzer (Maggie Rogers, Samia) and Jake Munk (Miley Cyrus, Ethan Tasch) to help her cultivate her ideas without “dimming their light.”Throughout her new writing, Coakley examines life on a larger scale –– from missing friends across time zones to the bittersweet feeling of returning home. The old version of Coakley is its own character in her writing, forcing her to look over her shoulder at the life she grew out of. In the lineage of other crossover artists like Taylor Swift and Kacey Musgraves, Coakley’s reflections on coming of age feel both universal and intimate, delivered in soaring pop hooks over beds of jangly acoustics, banjo and slide guitar. The influence of the country artists she grew up on shines through, delivering her narrative lyricism with an emotional, powerhouse voice.Since her debut in 2021, Coakley has cemented herself in the indie landscape, amassing over 4.9 million Spotify streams to date and nabbing slots at festivals like Bonnaroo and Briston Maroney’s Paradise Festival. Her upcoming sophomore EP deepens Coakley’s journey of self discovery, as she continues to strike a chord with her young audience. She may have found her footing, but this is only the beginning for Cece Coakley.-16+, under 16 admitted with ticketed guardian
