Easy Honey

Larimer Lounge Presents Easy Honey on Wednesday, July 24 –Easy Honey was born out of the small-town innocent college days: the days of walking home under the starry night, and springing under the watchful eye of sunny graveyards, Dairy Queens, and neo-gothic cathedrals. Easy Honey’s witty melodies dotted with catchy hooks serve as anthems of nostalgia for their indie rock audience of daydreamers and nightseekers. Drawing inspiration from the originality and attitude of The Kinks, The Replacements, and Radiohead, the band’s raucous yet sentimental live show exemplifies the realness that people crave in a post covid/internet driven world.  The band’s latest EP, Ooooo, landed itself on numerous popular playlists, including Spotify’s “Undercurrents,” “Grade A, “Surf Rock Sunshine,” as well as multiple Apple Music Playlists (Ski, New in Rock). The EP precedes more releases from the band under the direction of producer Wolfgang Zimmerman (Band of Horses, Susto). Co-frontmen Darby McGlone (vocals, guitar) and Selby Austin (vocals, guitar) share writing and singing duties, while Charlie Holt (drums, vocals) and Webster Austin (bass, vocals) provide a rhythm section which complements the personified, interwoven electric guitars. When not touring, the band lives in Charleston, SC, leading the way in the rapidly growing music scene… and surfing Folly Beach when home. -16+, under 16 admitted with ticketed guardian

Launder

Larimer Lounge Presents Launder on Tuesday, May 14 –After nearly three years and sixty demos, Launder’s full-length debut is Happening. In 2019, Orange County-raised, Los Angeles-based musician John Cudlip signed to Ghostly International to build his recording project, developed out of casual sessions with friends Jackson Phillips (Day Wave), Soko, and Zachary Cole Smith (DIIV). Launder’s music had seen unexpected attention, with Stereogum placing it “somewhere at the intersection of ’90s lo-fi and shoegaze,” and Gorilla vs. Bear noting Cudlip’s “serious knack for the kind of wistful, soaring choruses that immediately make you feel like you’ve known these songs forever.” With live shows paused in 2020, he immersed fully into writing and arranging an overflow of ideas. Cudlip also embraced sobriety, redirecting his once-destructive addictive tendencies into studio craft — all his thoughts consumed by melody and texture, all his resources lobbed into gear, every buzz, hiss, and hum of this record became his entire world. The resulting set sprawls across a double LP release; it’s a considered beast of a debut and he’s proud of it, living with it, finally. Through its thirteen songs, Happening is timeless, grappling with something bigger than just melody, the cathartic and the tender, indebted to indie rock greats while informed by modern and prudent self-reflection.-16+, under 16 admitted with ticketed guardian

Shanin Blake w/ Coop Mahndala + Layup

Larimer Lounge Presents Shanin Blake with Coop Mahndala and Layup on Thursday, December 7 — If you don’t already resonate with Shanin Blake through her conscious pop music, the message behind her project is the spark that sets her apart from the status quo. Native to Utah, Blake found her connection to music as a self-taught outlet from outside circumstances at an early age, going as far as calling music her safe space. From playing open mics at cafes regularly, ukulele and guitar in hand, Shanin became an overnight local celebrity through her affirmative lyricism, flourishing an enthusiastic fan base from the ground up. Having her daughter at the age of seventeen, Shanin knew the road ahead would be an up hillbattle as a single mom and rising artist, yet music remained her constant. Posting a cover on Facebook in 2014, the video became an internet sensation, populating hundreds of thousands of views and spreading Blake’s music nationwide, gaining traction and leading to the release of her 2018 debut album, Soulchild. Releasing a collaboration with popular lo-fi producer Jazzinuf in 2019, Shanin’s numbers skyrocketed again, quickly reaching 6 million streams on Spotify alone. Following up the single with her Lioness album and “Naked Sunshine” EP, her streams have only grown from then. Hermost recent singles, “Bad Btch Energy” and “Energy Vampires,” opened doors to her being scouted for America’s Got Talent, walking the runway at New York Fashion Week, major brand collaborations, and a number of large scale music festivals. Throughout her rapid rise to fame, Shanin has still managed to never lose sight of her roots as a young girl with big dreams who grew up listening to jazz and psychedelic 60’s rock, which influence the music she makes today. Choosing to be an independent artist despite it all, she’s established a deeper relationship with her audience, along with staying true to her message of freedom, love, authentic expression, and collective healing. We welcome you all to the Shanin Blake journey with open arms.   VIP GOLD ticket holders will receive 1 hour early entry into the venue, hear 1 unreleased song performed by Shanin and Meet & greet experience + photo opp with Shanin herself! -16+, under 16 admitted with ticketed guardian

Ryan Mack w/ Sophie Gray

Larimer Lounge Presents Ryan Mack with Sophie Gray on Tuesday, February 6 —  Ryan Mack came to the world’s attention at the end of 2020 with his viral hit ‘Broke’.  Brutally honest and incredibly relatable it was a song about having no money and it wasn’t long before it became a massive viral hit.  It didn’t stop there for Ryan and over the last three years he’s become one of pops most listened to independent artists. He’s built a catalogue of songs that streams into the millions every day.   With three songs already landing on Spotify’s Viral Charts this year, he’s building a reputation as a prolific songwriter who delivers time and time again with his relatable lyrics, endless variety of music styles that all sit alongside his magical vocal performances.  Songs like ‘Only Human’, ‘Wish You the Worst’, ‘Forever and Ever and Always’,’I Should Have Stayed at Home’ and of course his monster hit ‘Overwhelmed (Ryan Mack Remix) continue to find new fans around the globe.  It’s an exciting time for those fans as Ryan starts to bring those songs to the stage. Having already sold out shows across Europe, his North American dates look to be no different, and are certainly not to be missed.  -16+, under 16 admitted with ticketed guardian

grentperez w/ Nep

Larimer Lounge Presents grentperez with Nep on Wednesday, October 25 — 21-year-old Australian musician grentperez is unapologetically a Gen-Z artist with an old soul. Having first found his audience on YouTube strumming guitar, singing covers and original songs, he is an untrained, yet intuitive musician who has figured out bossa nova rhythms, jazzy chord progressions and classic songwriting which he fuses with modern R&B and bedroom pop in his own unique style. He’s an unlikely star — unassuming and unpretentious, like someone raised on pop karaoke, Getz / Gilberto and Mac DeMarco’s 2 — but it’s all those disparate factors that make grentperez such a captivating presence. grentperez’s initiation into the world of music was the definition of informal. He soaked up sounds not in strict lessons but at family karaoke parties (“Filipino people love karaoke,” he explains with a laugh, “There are some uncles out there with hidden-ass talent”) as well as the YouTube endeavors of his older brother and sister, who he credits as his biggest musical influences and cheerleaders. It’s this unorthodox swirl of influences that makes grentperez’s breezy, lithe pop songs feel full of life — who needs to practice their scales when your parents’ records collection and an assortment of impassioned karaoke performances of Dionne Warwick, The Carpenters, and the Bee Gees have created such a rich and unpredictable universe of sounds to build upon? This laid the foundation for grentperez’s rise from viral YouTube covers performer to a budding bedroom pop star. Here’s the story: At just 12 years old he posted his first video to his YouTube channel. Like any kid, he just wanted to get a reaction — and, over time, he got that, generating over 100 million views and 600k subscribers on his channel. He grew more confident and started writing his own music. It started slow (he self-deprecatingly describes the first song he wrote as “ass”) but he felt it start to come together when he wrote a song for a competition in a church youth group. “I’m still a little salty that it came in second in the competition,” he jokes. After some more finetuning, his eventual 2021 debut single “Cherry Wine” — an undeniably lovely bossa nova torch song — became an international sensation, hitting the #1 slot on the Spotify Viral Chart in not just his home country of Australia but also Canada and Singapore. The trickle of music became a flood: 2022 brought a pair of releases (Conversations with the Moon EP and Trail Mix), a triple j Like A Version cover session of the School Of Rock track “Teacher’s Pet,” and a sweeping, swooning Christmas single entitled “When Christmas Comes Again” — a total heat check of a track coming from a young songwriter just realizing the breadth of his powers. It’s got strings and jingle bells and there’s even a cheesy key change. Even better: it works. The young songwriter has blossomed into an artist, and he’s got the following to prove it: With over 300 million listens on streaming platforms, a multi-continental touring resume, and notable support from tastemakers including Triple J, NPR Music, MTV, KCRW, Clash, DIY, Wonderland, and The Line of Best Fit, grentperez is on the precipice of something big. Which brings us to When We Were Younger, released in June 2023. Conceived as a means to get out of a songwriting rut, When We Were Younger is seven song collection centered around the concept of nostalgia.  -16+, under 16 admitted with ticketed guardian

Blood Red Shoes w/ Bleak Mystique

Larimer Lounge Presents Blood Red Shoes with Bleak Mystique on Tuesday, July 11 — Blood Red Shoes are an alternative rock duo from UK who have released 6 studio albums and countless EPs and one-off singles since they began in 2004. Characterised by the dual vocals of guitarist/singer Laura-Mary Carter and drummer/singer Steven Ansell, the band’s sound has seen them evolve over time from the scrappy indie-punk beginnings of “It’s Getting Boring By The Sea” into darker, harder edged and more gothic terrain, no more so than with 2022’s GHOSTS ON TAPE album. The band are known for their energetic live shows and old-school hard touring ethic, having played over 1200 shows around the globe since their formation . -16+, under 16 admitted with ticketed guardian
